About Beau

Beau Mansfield, Founder & Lead Designer

Beau Mansfield is the founder of Chrysalis Yacht Design, a British studio specialising in bespoke superyacht interiors, explorer yachts, and refined residential spaces.

With over 40 year’s experience at the highest level of marine design, Beau has contributed to some of the industry’s most ambitious and technically demanding projects.

His background includes major cruise ship commissions most notably the iconic Queen Mary 2 providing him with a rare depth of understanding of complex, large-scale environments that few yacht designers possess. This foundation underpins every Chrysalis project, where design is approached not only as an aesthetic exercise, but as a fully integrated, buildable solution.

Working in close collaboration with leading European shipyards across Holland, Germany, Italy, and Turkey, Beau has been directly involved in the construction and delivery of numerous vessels. This hands-on experience at shipyard level ensures that each design is grounded in technical reality carefully considered, efficiently executed, and free from the disconnect that can occur between concept and build.

His design philosophy is defined by restraint, precision, and longevity. He believes that true luxury lies in clarity of design spaces that feel effortless, balanced, and quietly confident. Every project is guided by a rigorous attention to proportion, flow, and material integrity, resulting in interiors that are both timeless and deeply functional.

Prior to founding Chrysalis Yacht Design, Beau built his career working across a broad spectrum of high-end marine and interior projects, developing a reputation for delivering sophisticated, technically resolved designs at scale. His work spans private yachts, commercial vessels, and luxury residential interiors, offering a uniquely comprehensive perspective within the field.

Based in Bath, Somerset, Beau works internationally with private clients, developers, and shipyards. Outside the studio, he enjoys sailing, travel, architecture and interests that continue to inform and inspire his approach to design.
