Key Expectations For Monaco Yacht Show 2025

What are the expectations for the 2025 Monaco yacht show from the 24th to 27th September.

Strong Sustainability Focus.

The show is doubling down on eco‑innovation. The Blue Wake programme, which highlights eco‑responsible tech & solutions, is expected to be more prominent. Expect more propulsion systems using hybrid, electric, and alternative fuels (e.g. dual‑fuel, hydrogen fuel cells, etc.).

Sustainable materials, low‑VOC coatings, eco‑certified woods, etc., are expected both in interiors and in refits.

Breakthrough Yacht Launches / Large New Builds

A lot of attention is on BREAKTHROUGH (Feadship), a 118.8 m yacht with hydrogen fuel‑cell technology. It’s expected to be one of the show’s highlights.

Other large yachts like Energy (77.8 m by Amels) and “Admiral 78M” are expected to draw interest for their luxury, range, and feature‑sets.

Explorer & Adventure‑Yacht Growth

More exhibitors are showing yachts designed for long‑range cruising, off‑grid capability, and exploration. The market wants yachts not just for show but for real adventure.

The inclusion of submersibles, high‑performance tenders, and water toys are expected to continue rising.

Tech / Digital & AI Enhancements

Smarter yachts: AI for operations (navigation, energy management), predictive maintenance, guest experiences (e.g. automated comfort settings).

Connectedness: better connectivity (satellite, internet), ability to work remotely on board.

Luxury & Lifestyle Evolution

Bespoke interiors and craftsmanship remain key. Owners increasingly want unique, personalised touches rather than “off‑the‑shelf” luxury.

The wellness trend continues: cabins/spaces dedicated to rest, recovery, biohacking, meditation, etc., are expected to be more integrated than before.

New Ownership Demographics, New Markets

Growing interest from Asia / Asia‑Pacific markets. More orders, more charter demand in Southeast Asia; infrastructure (marinas, services) catching up.

Younger generations among super yacht owners are influencing design more — both in terms of values (e.g. sustainability) and aesthetics.

Safety, Transparency, & Regulation

More scrutiny over environmental footprint and verification of claims (fuel usage, emissions, etc.). Owners & charters will likely demand more data, more transparency.

Also expect more regulatory attention (both for environmental compliance and for safe handling of newer tech like hydrogen).

Show Features / Infrastructure

There will be more “sustainability infrastructure” onsite — electric shuttles, waste‑reduction, etc.

The Blue Wake Awards during opening night will highlight high‑impact sustainable solutions.
